Our Family Law Department comprises two Solicitors with long experience in providing legal advice and assistance covering all aspects of relationship breakdown and marriage breakdown.

We advise and can represent spouses who separate or want to divorce and also co-habitees or civil partners whose relationship has broken down completely. Our work covers dissolution of marriages and civil partnerships and also financial settlements within the context of a divorce or dissolution of a civil partnership. A financial settlement covers possible claims on income and on other money and in relation to property and other assets including accrued pension benefits. We advise and also represent clients on inheritance claims by former spouses or partners or by children.

We advise and represent parents (and others such as grandparents) in relation to disputes over the day to day care and parenting generally of dependent children. Under English Law a number of orders relating to children are possible.

We also advise on pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.

Our fees are very competitive and it may be possible to pay by instalments. Legal aid advice and assistance may be available and will depend upon financial eligibility. We normally offer an initial free consultation (up to 1/2 hour) in which an assessment for limited legal aid advice and assistance can be undertaken.

We fully appreciate the distress and worry that can arise in Family Law matters. We aim to provide a most sympathetic and personal service coupled of course with the determination to seek fair and proper settlements and outcomes for our clients.

Please note that our services and advice are limited to the laws and courts in England and Wales.

Phone 02392 505500 and ask for Richard Parrott or Alistair Burnett or their secretaries to make an appointment or request a call back
